GLASS REPAIR &
REPLACEMENT COURSE
2 Days

Relevant to technicians of all experience levels, BETAG’s Glass Repair and Replacement course focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to remove and replace glass properly and safely. It also includes modules to develop technicians’ awareness of the various ADAS systems that can be affected and the steps that need to be taken to research and implement associated OEM repair procedures.

This benefits the technician by enabling them to complete repairs properly with less waiting time; and enables collision centers to realize additional cost and gross profit benefits by retaining some or all this type of work in house, instead of sub-letting it.

Course Objective

Develop technicians’ skills to successfully remove and replace glass properly and safely, in accordance with the correct OEM repair procedure.

Overview

Day 1 starts with a combination of practical and classroom exercises to learn about: the different types of glass used in vehicles; the structural role of the windshield; and researching, identifying and implementing the correct OEM procedures (including types of adhesive and adhesive specifications). Using this as a foundation, the second part of day 1 focuses on developing the knowledge and skills needed to remove glass correctly.

Day 2 continues with developing the knowledge and skills needed to prepare and install a new piece of glass properly and safely, in accordance with the correct OEM repair procedure – before learning about the viability of and options for repairing small chips (for example, stone chips).
